We require all families and participants to adhere to these to keep everyone safe. Because of the close contact within a camp community, and to mitigate the risks, we have implemented many new protocols and procedures, summarized below.
Campers and staff will be required to wear face coverings as described and required by Santa Clara County Health Department protocols.
Physical distancing of 6ft. or more, whenever possible.
One Cohort of 14 campers with 2 vaccinated staff will be subdivided into pods of 4 campers each for project activities. These pods will move throughout the activities at camp together.
Current heightened hygiene protocols for cleaning and disinfecting with limited shared equipment, where possible.
Daily COVID-19 health screening of all campers and staff.
Communication, education, and training of staff for COVID-19 and use of current and best practices.
Plan for quarantine and reporting should an outbreak occur, which includes communication with local authorities.
ACKNOWLEDGMENT OF RISK
As we know, COVID-19 will be with us for the foreseeable future. No matter what procedures and protocols are put in place, there is simply no way to guarantee that COVID-19 or any other communicable disease will not enter the camp. By the very nature of the personal interactions that take place in a school or camp environment, there is always a risk of your child contracting this or any other disease or infection. We will do everything within our power to keep your child healthy and safe at Art and Soul Camp this summer.
Please call 650-269-0423 or email with any questions related to COVID-19. We would be happy to discuss our policies and procedures to help you determine if camp is a good fit for you and your child this summer. If 2021 isn’t the right summer for your family to come to camp, we hope to see you at Art and Soul Camp in the future!

Our culinary program is designed with ethnically diverse recipes.
Campers will create regional spice blends and marinades to bring home with companion recipes.
We demonstrate and explore the differences between sautéing, baking, poaching, steaming and grilling, among other culinary techniques.
Campers will practice knife skills learning both decorative and functional cutting techniques.

puppets and puppet theater construction
Storytelling is an effective way for kids to learn and develop.. We humans tell stories as a way to connect, entertain and pass along important information. Thousands of years of storytelling has had immense power in all cultures. Good readers make good storytellers. At our camp kids learn to establish and nurture their story telling skills further, by making them come alive through puppets. What better way to connect art to storytelling! In pods, campers will build their own puppets, puppet theater and scenery. They will interpret their own stories and create and perform a puppet show for each other.
kitchen science activities
Create slime, flubber, a salt dough construction, make a volcano explode, build a spaghetti tower or bridge, experience float/displace or sink water games, explore musical vibrations with sound instruments, challenge yourself to an engineering feat in Rapunzel rescue, build a lava lamp and more...
yoga & mindfulness
We use yoga techniques to develop a sense
of themselves and the present in children.
They learn to breathe, focus, balance and relax.
In a world of infinite possibilities we teach them
to take one step at a time and enjoy the changing environment around them.
"Scientific evidence suggests that mindfulness interventions improve attention, self-control, emotional resilience, memory and immune response.”
